Perks are a new feature in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, and they can be found after beating certain bosses, or they can be purchased from Zee's shop with Data Disks. There are 25 perks, each requiring a different amount of perk slots but providing a unique buff that can reward your playstyle or even encourage you to play differently.
Perks can be equipped at any Meditation Point and are only limited by your perk slots. Some add a bit of resistance to Cal, while some make you stronger at a price. Each perk's effectiveness can vary based on the stance you're using, while some are exclusive to the Blaster stance. Here are the 10 best perks to have.
10 Equilibrium
This is one kind of perk that can change the way you play. Equilibrium causes force abilities to increase the damage to your next lightsaber attack, which rewards you for incorporating Force abilities into your fighting style and weaving them into your combos. You can also start fights with extra damage by using Force Confusion right away to give yourself a big advantage or Wrenching Pull, so your first empowered saber hits as many targets as you can in one swing.
9 Ambidexterity
This perk is exclusive to the Blaster stance, as it makes Blaster shots increase your lightsaber damage. This, paired with that stance's ability to weave blaster shots in between strikes, can lead to a lot of extra potential damage. Simply strike with the blade and shoot after each strike, and you will shred through single targets easily or deal with ranged foes while you focus on what's in front of you. The Blaster stance was designed for this playstyle, so if you enjoy using it, this perk is a must-have.
8 Marksmanship
This perk is another blaster stance, one that is simple in nature. It simply buffs your blaster damage for a DPS increase. This can make the chip shots you deal hurt bosses even more or help you chip away at your enemies more while you are weaving attacks in. This pairs well with other perks that involve the Blaster stance, like Ambidexterity.
This increase to blaster damage doesn't help much against enemies that already die in one shot but is great for chipping at the block and health of tougher foes and bosses.
7 Versatility
This perk gives you a brief damage boost after switching stances and can be useful if you often switch stances mid-combat or even mid-combo. Rewarding frequent swaps is a cool idea and complements the various saber stance's situational strength and encourages swaps for more damage. This can be a nice DPS increase during boss fights as you weave combos while swapping stances.
6 Wisdom
More experience gained overall is very useful at just about every stage of the game, depending on how many of the skill trees you want to explore. While this perk does not buff your damage or combat capabilities on paper, the extra experience over the course of the game can allow you to get skills faster and more frequently to give yourself lots of extra skills to buff yourself in that way. Once you have most of what you need, this perk can be taken off at your discretion, but it is nice to have if you are trying to grind.
5 Centered
This perk is excellent in a panic during fights as it will stagger all the enemies near you, giving you a chance to heal without getting hit right after, and it can even allow you to be offensive by healing to stagger an opponent and create your own opening.
Nothing feels worse than getting hit right after you heal and losing all the health you just got back, forcing you to be on the defensive again. This perk can cover your heal and even leverage it to your advantage.
4 Dexterity
This perk buffs all lightsaber throw attacks, granting them a bit more damage. Because every stance has a way to throw the lightsaber, this is a pretty universally useful perk for any stance. It can be more useful when using Dancing Blade with Dual Wield Stance for extra DPS on multiple targets. Saber throw will kill most weak targets in one hit, but when going for chip damage
3 Trendsetter
This perk is unlocked after beating the game and can be used on New Game+ or as you explore all the areas you missed your first time around. Each time, it will randomize all your cosmetics. That means each time you respawn, you will have a new lightsaber, BD-1 will look different, and Cal will be completely changed. This perk can help you find new styles while also being silly and encourages you to change it up after beating the game with your preferred look. It does nothing in combat but doesn't take any perk slots to equip, so there is no downside. Not a combat perk but a really fun idea nonetheless.
2 Shatter
One of the earliest perks you can obtain is guarded by a Rancor in a cave. This perk increases the damage you deal to the blocking opponent's guard. This can aid any build and decrease the time it takes to punch through defensive enemies faster, so you can go from target to target more quickly. Because you can get it so early in the game, this perk can easily live in a permanent place in your perk slots -- being used for the entire game, which makes it a high-value perk.
1 Fortification
This perk can be a little tricky to find, but its usefulness is well worth the exploration. This perk heals you over time up to a minimum, keeping you healthy when you get knocked to low health. Not having to take the time to heal can allow you to focus on your fight and keep you from having to scramble to save yourself.
