Pokemon Pokopia is finally here, and it's confirmed - Pocket Monsters and the life game genre go perfectly together. Why haven't we had this sooner?
Regardless, it's here now, and this cozy life sim experience set in the Pokemon world sees you play as a Ditto that's transformed into a human. Giving distinct Animal Crossing vibes, Pokemon Pokopia is as wholesome as it is immensely fun, and we've got all the guides and information you need to help you resurrect this dried up land, and turn it into a beautiful, flourishing home.
Pokemon Pokopia Guides and Walkthroughs
We're knee-deep in tilled land, logs, and stone, and we're making substantial progress in turning our worlds into veritable Pokemon Paradises, so here are all the Pokopia guides you need to do the same.

Pokemon Pokopia Review
If you've still not actually made it to Pokopia and are deliberating whether you should, Sam's Pokemon Pokopia review will help you make that choice. Spoiler alert, she gives it a near-perfect four-and-a-half our of five.
To be more specific, Sam calls Pokemon Pokopia "a brilliantly bizarre blend of Pokemon, Animal Crossing, Dragon Quest Builders, and Viva Piñata," confirming that, "despite its many influences, [Pokopia] manages to be a unique spin-off for the Pokemon series that's also an accomplished life sim."
Pokemon Pokopia platforms
Pokemon Pokopia is available on the Nintendo Switch 2, with no other platforms confirmed. As it's a Pokemon game, though, this comes as no surprise, and we don't expect to see it arrive anywhere but the Switch 2 in the future, either. Well, until a new Switch is launched.
Pokemon Pokopia gameplay
Pokemon Pokopia focuses on creating a cozy environment for Pokemon to live. While settling in yourself, you also need to create habitats that meet certain requirements, both for attracting new Pokemon and keeping existing ones happy.
Once you meet different Pokemon, you also get access to new abilities that let you expand your town and decorate. For example, once you meet Hitmonchan, you can pick up their Rock Smash ability, enabling you to reshape the land around you and break through walls and barriers. Meanwhile, learning Scyther's Cut move turns your arms into blades that let you cut grass and chop down trees.
Ditto can also use Lapras' move to Surf across watery terrain in the world, and even turn into Dragonite to fly through the air. You can only use your transform for a set amount of time, though, and you'll need to eat food in order to replenish your power.
All the while, you'll be completing main story quests and smaller challenges for individual Pokemon to keep you busy, unlock new mechanics, and progress your story.
Pokemon Pokopia story
We already know that Pokemon Pokopia follows a Ditto who is tasked with rebuilding a town for Pokemon and humans to live, but there's a deeper story at play, here. If you've been wondering why and how Ditto takes on a human form, turns out it's based on their old Trainer, whose fate Ditto knows not. After all, there are no humans in Pokopia. Yet.
As Ditto and Professor Tangrowth set out to restore Pokopia, they too are hoping to humans, and maybe even their own trainers, return home.
Pokemon Pokopia multiplayer
Pokemon Pokopia supports four player online and local multiplayer, meaning you can invite up to three pals to come visit your town.
On the plus control pad, you also can open up a menu of different emotes to gesture to your friends in multiplayer, or to Pokemon who inhabit the world. There's additionally set messages you can use to communicate with your pals, or you can also use gamechat with a Nintendo Online account if you're playing in multiplayer.
