Occisio Machina, also called Terrormorphs are scary creatures that have undergone a transformation. The origin of Terrormorphs are linked to the city called Londinion on theToliman II. Londinion witnessed a major outbreak of Terrormorph infestation, which forced the United Colonies to bomb the city during the Colony War.

The UC Vanguard quest line is all about discovering the origins of Terrormorphs and preventing their spread across the Star System. During the quest, Hostile Intelligence, you finally learn about the origins of Terrormorphs and the scientific experiments involved in creating them.

Curiously, Toliman II has the perfect environmental conditions to promote the growth of the Lazarus plants. Moreover, as you progress through subsequent quests related to Terrormorphs, you'll uncover that the Lazarus plants were artificially synthesized by the United Colonies. The most astonishing information that you'll discover is that the UC had the knowledge of Terrormorph's origin for past two decades.

Types of Terrormorphs

There are three main Terrormorph types in the game, including a unique boss:

  1. Standard Terrormorphs: The Terrormorph you encounter during the "Grunt Work" quest is of the standard type. While they prove to be quite challenging, these are among the weakest types of Terrormorphs you'll encounter in your journey.
  2. Albino Terrormorphs: Albino Terrormorphs are stronger than standard Terrormorphs and possess psychic abilities. These Terrormorphs can control other creatures and turn them against you. If there are no creatures in the vicinity, Albino Terrormorphs can use psychic powers on your mind to scare and weaken your confidence.
  3. Terrormorph Anomaly: Terrormorph Anomaly is a unique boss that you'll encounter later in the game. This is amongst the strongest and largest Terrormorphs in the game.

In addition to being agile and aggressive, Terrormorphs can also tank a lot of damage. Here are some effective strategies you can use to take them down:

  1. Use Long-Range Rifles: Long-range rifles, such as sniper rifles, are highly effective against Terrormorphs. These rifles deal high damage, and you can use them once you've created enough distance between you and the creatures.
  2. Keep Moving: Terrormorphs can adapt their attack patterns based on your position. If you remain stationary, they'll exploit their agility and flanking abilities. Keep them confused by staying on the move.
  3. Use High Ground: While Terrormorphs have a massive jump range, enabling them to reach the roofs of buildings in seconds, if you're fighting them on the ground, consider standing on an elevated object, like a shipping container, to confuse the creature. This way, you can get a few shots off before having to reposition.
  4. Use Cover: When engaging a Terrormorph, always ensure that you're doing so from cover. Using cover strategically can help you outmaneuver and flank the creature.
  5. Bring Companions: Having companions with you during a Terrormorph encounter can be advantageous. Your companions can distract the creatures, giving you an opportunity to flank and attack.
  6. Use the Environment: If you're fighting Terrormorphs in an area with automatic turrets, electric generators, or explosive barrels, try to lure the creatures toward these objects to trap and damage them.
  7. Use Corrosives: Terrormorphs are vulnerable to corrosives and taken corrosive damage over time, making corrisves significantly more efficient than standard explosives and bullets. Weapons like the Corrosive Calibrated Grendel are exceptional at taking down these creatures.
