Netflix has released a new trailer for Record of Ragnarok season 3, which will begin streaming worldwide on Dec. 10. The trailer also unveils the new opening theme, “Dead or Alive” by Japanese rock band GLAY.

The latest preview offers a first look at Nostradamus, Kintoki, and Siegfried, as well as a tense glimpse of the coming clash between Buddha and Odin. This season reignites the series’ signature one-on-one battles between gods and legendary humans from history, entangled in the struggle for humanity’s survival. The decisive seventh round is a fight set to break the 3–3 tie in Ragnarok’s grand conflict.

Shun Horie (Kyotaro Ichikawa in The Dangers in My Heart) joins the cast as Michel de Nostradame (Nostradamus), described as “the great prophet of the century — the only human cast into the underworld, watching Ragnarok from the sidelines as he waits for his chance to join the battle.”

According to GLAY, the opening theme draws inspiration from the show’s moral complexity, “where each character’s struggles cannot be judged by simple notions of justice.” The ending theme, “Last Breath, Last Record,” performed by Saori Hayami, will also be released digitally on Dec. 10, coinciding with the season’s premiere.

Record of Ragnarok centers on a tournament where 13 of humanity’s greatest warriors face off against 13 gods from across mythologies to decide the fate of humankind. If the humans win seven out of thirteen bouts, humanity survives another thousand years; if not, it’s wiped out entirely. Each match pits divine power against mortal resolve, turning legendary figures from history and myth into champions fighting for their side’s very existence.

The anime adaptation of Record of Ragnarok, based on the manga by Shinya Umemura, Azychika, and Takumi Fukui, first debuted in 2021, with season 2 following in 2023.
