i remember that show, well, the promos for it at least
that was more than enough for me
How Bungie built Marathon’s live-service experience years before the game even launched

lol to each their own, but in my opinion, Marathon is the better looking game with an aesthetic and vibe that resonates with me
hunt showdown is ugly as sin aesthetically to me, but that’s just my opinion!
seems like there’s an extraction shooter out there with different styles and looks for everyone, and I’m happy that Marathon is one that’s finally doing it for me
How Bungie built Marathon’s live-service experience years before the game even launched
I’m playing it, didn’t read any reviews and bought it only because I’ve played every other Bungie game and wanted to make my own personal judgement on it
this is my first “extraction” shooter and after having put in a good amount of hours, I can definitely say this is the shooter I’ve been waiting for and didn’t know I needed
this game gives you moments that NO OTHER shooter can deliver (besides other good extraction shooters) and has a steep learning curve and mystery to it that just hits

Stranger Things is the best example here. Season 1 was special, it had that Spielberg feel nailed down almost too perfectly, and the kid’s ages at the time were perfect for the story and setting. Season 1 on a CRT (I own it physically) is perfection.
Season 2 and beyond though, ugh :(
The only positive thing I could say about Season 2 was it’s trailer with Thriller added to it because dang that had me hooked and ready for anything Stranger Things at the time
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflections is a PS2 game in the best way
I think this is the direction we’re heading into since AAA gaming has gotten so out of control with overbloated budgets, horrible project management, 5-10 (OR MORE) year development cycles, predatory monetizing practices, and the constant and stupid chase for the next live service game
There are TONS of games out there that feel like they come from the GC/PS2/Xbox era already though thank goodness, it’s pretty much all I buy now. Games like Silent Hill f, Resident Evil Requiem, and Armored Core Fires Of Rubicon are some examples that I think of right away that gave me the feeling of “oh shiet yo this is a god damn VIDEO GAME” recently
