Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick thinks that literally everyone who is old enough to buy Grand Theft Auto 6 will do so and that he "just doesn't see" anyone choosing not to buy it.
GTA 6 is going to be the biggest video game of all time (well, at least until Rockstar's next game in 2030-whatever), and that's just an undeniable fact. We all know it, Rockstar Games knows it, and Take-Two Interactive perhaps knows it better than anyone, as its CEO has been pretty open about the expectations it has for the industry's most-anticipated game.
Unless something goes horribly wrong somewhere along the way, there's pretty much no chance that GTA 6 doesn't instantly become a massive hit. The hype around GTA 6 is so high that it makes you wonder who out there isn't going to end up playing it, which is something that Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick is struggling to even imagine.
Strauss Zelnick Can't Think Of Any Adult Who Won't Buy GTA 6
To Be Fair, Even People Under 18 Are Going To End Up Playing It
As pointed out by Twitter user GTAVI_Countdown, The Game Business recently had the chance to speak with Zelnick about the impending release of Grand Theft Auto 6. Alongside noting that AI could never make a game like GTA 6, Zelnick talked about the game's player base, noting that he thinks it'll appeal to pretty much everyone out there.
Alongside admitting that there will likely be a "lot of 17-year-olds playing GTA 6", Zelnick pretty much said that he thinks everyone 18 and older will be buying GTA 6. At one point in the interview, Zelnick sarcastically asked anyone who has a console and is over the age of 17 to explain how they've decided they're not interested in GTA 6, clearly unable to think of such a person.
By the way, if you have a console and you're over 17, just explain to me how it is that you've decided, 'No, no GTA 6, not interested?' - Strauss Zelnick
Zelnick doesn't even think that there are adults out there who have aged out of wanting to play GTA 6, claiming that anyone who played games in their past will keep on playing even if they're 40. Basically, it sounds like Zelnick and Take-Two expect GTA 6 to appeal to nearly everybody who has even a passing interest in gaming, which sounds about right considering how GTA 5 sold and continues to sell.
