If you have played numerous expeditions in Elden Ring Nightreign, then there's a chance you have come across a mysterious item called "Cord End." It's a scarce legendary item with a description that reads "Gain entry somewhere."

Similar to many other items in Nightreign, this description gives the player almost zero information. Considering the map of the game is fairly large, and players only have a certain amount of time before the rain comes in, finding where to use Cord End can be tricky.

How to Use Cord End in Elden Ring Nightreign

Cord End can be used on a hidden door north of the main castle in the middle of the map. The door is found in the river that runs through the castle. Check out the image attached for its exact location.

Up against the rock side, you will find a hidden door that blends in fairly well. Make sure to look closely so you don't accidentally miss it.

Interacting with this door without a Cord End will reveal a message that states "Opens only for those who wield merit." However, if you interact with the door with Cord End in your inventory, the door will open.

Opening the secret door with Cord End will lead you to a long path inside a cave that eventually leads to a statue. Near the statue are three Sacrificial Twig Talismans.

Sacrificial Twig Talismans are extremely helpful in Elden Ring Nightreign as they make it to where players don't lose a level or runes upon death. For example, if you die at level 13, you will respawn at level 13.

Luckily, there are three Sacrificial Twig Talismans inside the Cord End door. In other words, each Nightfarer can claim one, giving your entire squad a massive advantage in the expedition.

How to Find Cord End in Elden Ring Nightreign

Cord End in Elden Ring Nightreign

As previously mentioned, Cord Ends are very rare in Elden Ring Nightreign. In fact, they may just be the rarest item in the entire game. I have only encountered this item three times, and I have been playing the game pretty religiously since its release.

Still, Cord End's appearance has a pattern. Cord Ends are usually found in boxes, with the highest drop rate being from boxes at churches. I recommend destroying all boxes at every church you encounter, which can easily be done by sprinting through them.

Now, changing the very Earth itself in Elden Ring Nightreign lies in the palm of your hand.

You'll know you've found a Cord End if a gold item drops from the box. From the 80 expeditions I have played through, the only gold item to drop at churches is Cord Ends.

Once you acquire a Cord End, it would be best to use it on Day 2 of the expedition, considering this is the best time to tackle the castle. I don't recommend diverging from your standard route just to reach the secret door. Instead, you should reach it naturally on the way to the castle.

It's really important to communicate with your teammates that you have a Cord End, so everyone gets a Sacrificial Talisman. If you aren't using a mic, make sure to ping the talisman.
