Destiny 2's Season of the Wish has added dozens of new weapons to chase, some of which can compete with the current PvE and PvP meta. Many of this season's weapons flesh out previously vacant archetypes, making this the perfect season to chase god rolls in preparation for the Final Shape.

Destiny 2 Season Of The Wish Seasonal Weapons
Destiny 2: Every New Weapon In Season Of The Wish

Season of the Wish has brought back some iconic Destiny weapons, including Dragon's Breath, Breakneck, and more.

The playlist loot in this season is surprisingly great, ranging from Slideshot Rocket Launchers to Onslaught Auto Rifles. If you're wondering which rolls are worth chasing, we'll show you the best PvE and PvP rolls for this season's playlist weapons, including ritual playlists, Trials of Osiris, Iron Banner, and Nightfall rewards.

Updated March 12, 2024, by Charles Burgar: The March update for Season of the Wish has released six new weapons into the sandbox. Bungie added two new weapons to the Trials of Osiris, Nightfalls, and Iron Banner. We've updated this guide to include god roll recommendations for all six weapons added in the March update, including optimal rolls for PvE and PvP.

Belisarius-D

Destiny 2 Belisarius-D

Belisarius-D is this season's Competitive PvP weapon, and it's easily the best Aggressive Frame Pulse in the game. It has a whopping 77 base range, rolls with stocks, and has an amazing perk pool tailored for PvP. Eye of the Storm and Rapid Hit are standouts in the third column, greatly improving this gun's consistency. Slice is also a decent option, applying a 15% damage debuff to targets after using your class ability.

In the fourth column, you can use Kill Clip for easy two-burst kills, but we recommend you go with Zen Moment. This is the only non-sunset Aggressive Pulse that can roll with Zen Moment, effectively removing all flinch and visual recoil from your weapon during a gunfight. This works with Eye of the Storm or Rapid Hit to make Belisarius-D an unstoppable dueling weapon.

PvE players can safely skip this weapon. It has some Strand synergies with Slice and Hatchling, but you can find similar perk combinations on far more accessible weapons. The juice isn't worth the squeeze.

Breakneck

Destiny 2 Breakneck

Forsaken's iconic pinnacle weapon is back in the Gambit loot pool in Season of the Wish. Breakneck is a Kinetic 450 RPM Auto Rifle that can roll with the unique Onslaught perk, increasing your fire rate with every kill. It works identically to Rampage, stacking up to three times and lasting 4.5 seconds. You can pair this with Subsistence or Enlightened Action to make Breakneck a Legendary version of Huckleberry.

Crucible players will also want to get a roll with Onslaught since it drastically improves your fire rate, converting this gun into a 720 RPM Auto Rifle with a 450's damage profile. The only catch is that you'll need to farm Gambit to get this weapon, and with its rather massive perk pool, getting the exact roll you want could take ages.

Crux Termination IV

Destiny 2 Crux Termination IV

Crux Termination IV is the first Rocket Launcher to roll with Slideshot, a perk that will automatically load a rocket into the cartridge when you slide. You can pair this with Surrounded for add-dense boss fights or Bipod for a powerful burst DPS option. You can also get Reconstruction or Envious Assassin in place of Slideshot if you dislike the playstyle.

Since this is a world drop, you can't target-farm a particular roll. Keep your eyes peeled for Slideshot in the third column. Crucible mains can skip this weapon; far better Rocket Launchers exist.

Double-Edged Answer

Destiny 2 Double-Edged Answer

Double-Edged Answer should strictly be treated as a utility weapon and nothing else. It's an Adaptive Frame, so this weapon is immediately overshadowed by Bequest and Lament. The good news is that you can get Valiant Charge in the fourth column, granting a massive lunge distance bonus if you block incoming damage. This pairs with the Nadir Focus origin trait to make Double-Edged Answer behave like an inverted Eager Edge Sword.

Eye Of Sol

Destiny 2 Eye Of Sol

Sniper mains will want to farm the Trials of Osiris this season. Eye of Sol has returned in Season of the Wish with a reprised perk pool, an Adept variant, and the Wild Card origin trait. It unfortunately can't get Opening Shot and Snapshot Sights simultaneously with this version, but it does have some solid perk combinations nonetheless.

Moving Target and Opening Shot is a great roll for general sniping, giving this weapon an absurd 98 aim assist while aiming. If you care more about handling, you can use Slickdraw in the third column to trade aim assist for 100 handling or Shot Swap for instantaneous weapon swaps after landing a kill. It's not the best version of Eye of Sol we've seen, but it's easily one of Destiny 2's best PvP snipers if you get the right roll.

Incisor

Destiny 2 Incisor

Incisor is the second Trials of Osiris weapon added this season. It's also the first Legendary Trace Rifle to deal Strand damage, and that's reflected in its perk pool. This weapon can get Slice in the third column to inflict Sever, and it can even get Hatchling in the fourth column to generate Threadlings.

If you don't care for Strand, Incisor's other perks make it an excellent PvE workhorse. Subsistence with either Killing Tally or Target Lock makes this weapon a fantastic option for slaying fodder enemies and majors alike. Crucible players are generally better off with a different Special weapon, but Zen Moment and Kill Clip are worth using if you're a Trace Rifle enthusiast.

Lethal Abundance

Destiny 2 Lethal Abundance

Lethal Abundance is a new Iron Banner weapon introduced this season, and it's taken the PvP sandbox by storm with its excellent perk combinations. This 360 RPM Strand Auto Rifle can roll with Slice and Onslaught to create one of the strongest workhorse Primaries for both PvE and PVP. And if you don't care for Slice, Discord is a great alternative.

Using your class ability will inflict Sever, reducing enemy damage by 40% in PvE and 15% in PvP. This makes landing a kill much easier. Defeat an enemy, and you'll gain a stack of Onslaught, increasing your fire rate. This stacks up to three times, morphing Lethal Abundance into a 600 RPM Auto Rifle with the damage profile of a 360, all the while debuffing targets. It's a powerhouse in the right hands.

Multimach CCX

Destiny 2 Multimach CCX

The infamous Multimach CCX has returned in Season of the Wish's mid-season patch. This weapon used to terrorize the Crucible with its absurd base zoom and high range stat. With the zoom and range decoupling that occurred earlier in Year 6, Multimach's effective range has been significantly cut down with this iteration.

Even still, this weapon is a PvP powerhouse in the right hands. Dynamic Sway Reduction and Iron Gaze is still a great combination in today's sandbox, giving this weapon a whopping 76+ range with a good roll. If damage is more important, you can get Kill Clip in the final column or even Target Lock to lower the gun's TTK to 0.67s.

PvE players should farm Adjudicator over this weapon since that SMG can get Onslaught, but Multimach can roll with Attrition Orbs and Frenzy for a general workhorse Primary. You can also get Kinetic Tremors on this gun, but it has no reload perks to pair with.

Parabellum

Destiny 2 Parabellum

Parabellum is an Adaptive Frame SMG that deals Solar damage, available from the world loot pool. It's a surprisingly powerful PvP SMG thanks to Adagio, a perk that grants +10 range and 30% more damage at the cost of fire rate after you land a kill. If you pair this with x2 Weapon Surges and a damage buff like Radiant, you can achieve a 0.56s TTK with 22 meters of effective range—effectively making this a Solar Immortal.

PvE players shouldn't sleep on this weapon either. Frenzy makes this a solid workhorse SMG for most PvE content, and you can pair it with Permeability to make this weapon match your subclass element. This allows Parabellum to fit into any loadout and benefit from various elemental buffs, notably Volatile Rounds and Unraveling Rounds.

The Prophet

Destiny 2 The Prophet

Dead Man's Tale now has a Stasis relative. The Prophet is a Legendary 120 RPM Scout Rifle that behaves identically to Dead Man's Tale and similar lever-action rifles, dealing massive chip damage from long range. These weapons are generally outclassed by the likes of Igneous Hammer and Steady Hand, but this weapon has some tricks up its sleeve.

If you want to use a Double Primary loadout or miss the pre-nerf DMT days, Discord and Cascade Point is a devastating combo in PvP. Kill an enemy with your Energy weapon, then swap to The Prophet to morph it into a 200 RPM Scout Rifle with 30% more accuracy. Every kill will then refill your magazine, allowing you to go on a killing spree for a few seconds. It's a terrifying combo that turns this gun into a discount Special weapon.

For PvE players, The Prophet isn't quite as exciting. Scout Rifles in general aren't the best in high-end PvE activities, but you can make do with Rapid Hit and Precision Instrument. Landing headshots will buff the weapon's reload speed and precision damage, perfect for stunning Champions or eliminating weaker red bar units.

Retrofuturist

Destiny 2 Retrofuturist

Retrofuturist has returned in Season of the Wish, making this its third reprisal. It has a rather large perk pool and is obtained from the Crucible, so PvP players should be able to get their ideal roll after resetting their Valor a few times. As for perks, Quickdraw and Snapshot Sights make for an exceptionally quick Shotgun. It can't roll with Opening Shot, however, so other Shotguns have Retrofuturist beat for consistency.

PvE players can skip this weapon, as it has poor DPS perks. You can use Pugilist and Trench Barrel for a melee-focused build, but that's as PvE-friendly as it gets.

Ros Arago IV

Destiny 2 Ros Arago IV

Fans of Gnawing Hunger have finally found an upgrade after all these years. Ros Arago IV is an Adaptive Frame Auto Rifle that deals Void damage, featuring the Wild Card origin trait that generates Telesto bolts with every kill. That alone makes it a decent upgrade, but Ros Arago's perks take it even further.

Onslaught buffs its fire rate so much that it becomes the fastest-firing weapon in Destiny 2, full stop. You can pair this with Rewind Rounds to automatically reload the weapon when its magazine runs dry, perfect for PvE add clear. Crucible players can use Dynamic Sway Reduction instead for a major accuracy boost, making Ros Arago a menace in the right hands.

The Slammer

Destiny 2 The Slammer

Falling Guillotine has received a makeover and made its way into the Nightfall reward pool. The Slammer is a Vortex Frame Sword that deals Stasis damage, featuring the same whirlwind AoE heavy attack as Falling Guillotine and Dark-Drinker. But as with most reprised weapons, The Slammer has an absolutely stacked perk pool that might dethrone most Legendary Swords.

Easily the largest standout is Eager Edge in the first column, a perk that was previously exclusive to the Bungie 30th Anniversary Swords. Unlike The Other Half, this weapon can also roll with some fantastic DPS perks in its second perk column, notably Bait and Switch. This makes Slammer an S-tier Sword for all PvE content that has Champions or tough minibosses.

In PvP, the second trait column doesn't have any S-tier utility perks, but there are some good options here. Cold Steel can roll on this weapon, inflicting stacks of Slow with each strike. Beyond that, Demolitionist is your best option. Kills with this weapon will restore a portion of your grenade energy, perfect for Heavy rounds in 3v3 modes.

The Summoner

Destiny 2 The Summoner

The king of 600 Auto Rifles is back with Season 23's mid-season patch, this time with a perk pool that overshadows virtually every AR in the game. There isn't a single bad perk on this gun, and the number of viable perk combinations is easily over a dozen. If you like Auto Rifles at all, it's worth struggling through the Trials of Osiris to get your hands on one.

For PvE, the major standout here is Subsistence and Onslaught, a combination that morphs the Summoner into a 1,000 RPM weapon that can melt fodder units. Another great combination is Overflow with Golden Tricorn. Get a weapon kill, land an ability final blow, and your Summoner will deal 50% bonus damage for the next ten seconds. For comparison, Exotic Primaries deal 40% more damage versus red bar units.

Crucible players will have a field day with this gun. Dynamic Sway Reduction and Tap the Trigger effectively removes accuracy bloom from this gun and greatly increases your stability. For 6v6 players, don't sleep on Heal Clip and Kill Clip. Heal Clip restores 60 HP and can proc Ember of Benevolence on Solar subclasses. Kill Clip also greatly reduces the weapon's TTK to 0.6s, melting any Guardian unfortunate enough to be in your sights.

Destiny 2: How To Get Through The Prophecy Dungeon And Defeat Its Bosses

Best the Nine's challenges to receive reissued Trials of the Nine weapons—some of Destiny 2's most powerful weapons.

Tusk Of The Boar

Destiny 2 Tusk Of The Boar

Tusk of the Boar is the first Wave-Frame GL to come with Strand damage, and it's the second GL to roll with Chain Reaction. Kills with this weapon will cause the target to violently explode, usually dealing enough damage to kill red bar units outright. As the perk name implies, this can create a chain reaction of explosions, clearing entire rooms with a single shot. That alone makes this gun worth chasing whenever Iron Banner is active.

Deconstruct Alternative

Tusk of the Boar is the first Wave-Frame GL to roll with Deconstruct, a perk that refunds ammo if you hit enough targets in quick succession. This ammo comes from thin air and directly loads into the weapon.

This gun should theoretically be able to proc Deconstruct if you hit three targets with a single shot. We haven't tested this perk ourselves, but if this interaction works as expected, then Deconstruct might dethrone Chain Reaction as the best perk for this gun.

Keep a roll with Deconstruct just in case, as Chain Reaction is getting nerfed in Final Shape.

Crucible players won't find as much to love about this gun. Slice and Hatchling is a fun combination if you want to play into Strand keywords, but this weapon is otherwise subpar. Any Wave-Frame GL with Disruption Break is better suited for blinting and similar playstyles.

Wild Style

Destiny 2 Wild Style

Wild Style is a massive disappointment and is arguably the worst Nightfall reward right now. This is the second Double Fire Grenade Launcher we've seen in the Destiny sandbox, and this one is the first one to roll with Solar damage. There was potential for this to be a great Special weapon for hotswap DPS strategies with Rockets and Izanagi's Burden, but unfortunately, this weapon can't roll with any reliable auto-reloading perks.

The only option for auto-reloading is Envious Assassin, but this is a massive downgrade to Wilderflight's Auto-Loading Holster. Additionally, this gun lacks consistent DPS perks in the second column. Your best pick is Collective Action or Surrounded, two perks that rely on niche conditions to activate. For PvE, skip this gun. If you need add clear, run a Wave-Frame GL. For hotswap DPS, Wilderflight is objectively better.

Crucible players should also skip this weapon, as Double Fire GLs are incredibly tough to blint with—a playstyle where you deal multiple instances of burst damage by hotswapping guns. The grenades will have different trajectories if you ricochet them, and your damage is split between both grenades. Even worse, there aren't any good consistency perks on offer here. Simply put, Wild Style is a terrible GL and is absolutely not worth farming for.
