Descend into the heart of Titan to become an Aquanaut, the seasonal title for Destiny 2's Season of the Deep. Compared to other seasonal titles, Aquanaut is arguably one of Destiny 2's harder titles to earn. It requires players to fully clear a Pressure Trial variant of Deep Dive, catch an Exotic fish, and complete one of Destiny 2's hardest Exotic missions to date.
If you're up to the task, Aquanaut is a prestigious title that is accessible to Guardians that don't mind a challenge. This guide will cover all ten Triumphs tied to this title, explain their requirements, and provide tips on how to complete each Triumph as easily as possible.
Weekly Wetwork
Weekly Wetwork: Complete each week of the quest "Into the Depths."
"Into the Depths" is the seasonal questline for Season of the Deep, introducing you to the Salvage and Deep Dive activities. You'll receive this quest after completing an introductory mission at the H.E.L.M. Acquire and complete the quest to finish this Triumph. All the objectives are fairly easy and can be completed solo.
Challenges Accepted
Challenges Accepted: Unlock all seasonal bonuses earned by completing Seasonal Challenges.
Most seasons have unique bonuses you can earn by completing certain Seasonal Challenges, unlocking new upgrades such as Umbral Engram focusing options or bonus rewards from activities. Season of the Deep's upgrades are found in the Seasonal Challenge UI under the "Seasonal Bonuses" tab. These bonuses are fairly easy to complete, requiring you to rank up the Sonar Station and play seasonal content. An exact list of these challenges can be found in our vendor upgrade guide.
Echo Relocation
Echo Relocation: Reset your vendor rank with the Sonar Station.
Reach Rank 16 with the Sonar Station and claim all rewards to reset your reputation, completing this Triumph. You earn ranks with the Sonar Station by completing Salvage runs, Deep Dive activities, and by depositing fish into the H.E.L.M.'s aquarium. For most players, we recommend farming Salvage since it's an easy six-player matchmade activity. Play until you have a surplus of bait, then visit your favorite fishing pond. Repeat as needed until you can reset your rank.
Reprised Reckoning
Reprised Reckoning: Defeat targets with Season of the Deep weapons. Defeat Guardians grant additional progress.
Reprised Reckoning requires you to defeat 600 enemies with Season of the Deep weapons. Weapons that contribute to this challenge include the Reckoning and Taken weapons awarded from seasonal content and the Sonar Station. The 600 kills can be achieved at any destination or activity, not just Season of the Deep content. For most players, we recommend you farm kills in seasonal content since you'll be increasing your Sonar Station reputation in the process. As for which weapons to use, we recommend Different Times and Rapacious Appetite.
Big Fish
Big Fish: Defeat each unique boss in the Salvage activity.
Salvage features two unique bosses that rotate weekly. You'll need to kill both boss types to finish this Triumph. The bosses spawn at the end of the Salvage activity and are fairly easy to kill.
Down The Drain
Down the Drain: Defeat each unique boss found on your Deep Dives.
Similar to Big Fish, the Down the Drain Triumph requires you to kill all three unique Deep Dive bosses. These bosses rotate weekly, so this will take at least three weeks to complete if you haven't played any Deep Dive. Reach the lowest floor, slay the boss, and collect your rewards. Pressure Trials are not required to fight the final boss.
Pressurized Deep
Pressurized Deep: Complete a Deep Dive with Pressure Trials active on each encounter.
Every Deep Dive encounter has an optional Pressure Trial variant you can activate by interacting with a floating Toland orb in the arena. These tend to spawn in corners. Every member of your fireteam must interact with the orb to start the Pressure Trial. Since not every player in the matchmaking pool knows of this mechanic, it's best you attempt this solo or with a premade fireteam.
The Pressure Trial itself is fairly simple, requiring your fireteam to cleanse pools of energy, destroy Blights, or defeat tough Taken opponents. Successfully completing a Pressure Trial will greatly increase the difficulty of the Deep Dive, limiting your Power level down to a -15 delta—the equivalent of Legend content. Complete a run where every run has been augmented with a Pressure Trial to complete this Triumph.
Quantity Over Quality
Quantity Over Quality: Catch fish at any Fish Pond.
This is arguably the simplest Triumph tied to Aquanaut. Quantity over Quality requires you to catch 150 fish. The fish can be of any quality. Acquire some bait, find a fishing pond in patrol, and start fishing. Check out our fishing guide for more information on how fishing works in Destiny 2.
Ambitious Angler
Ambitious Angler: Catch an Exotic fish at any fishing pond.
Whenever you catch a fish in Destiny 2, there's an incredibly small chance that you'll receive an Exotic fish. This Triumph asks you to catch one Exotic fish from any pond. There are two ways to increase your chances of getting an Exotic fish:
- Perfectly catch any fish that bite.
- Fish in a pond with high activity.
The former requires you to reel in the fish immediately after it bites, while the latter requires you to fish in a pond that's occupied by other players. The more Legendary and Exotic fish your group catches, the higher your chances are of getting an Exotic fish. Once you get an Exotic fish, deposit it at the H.E.L.M.'s aquarium to earn some Exotic armor, Masterwork materials, and Broken Blades required to earn this season's hidden Exotic.
Something Wicked This Way Comes
Something Wicked This Way Comes: Earn the Exotic Scout Rifle, Wicked Implement.
Wicked Implement is an Exotic Scout Rifle that's tied to a secret mission. You must catch three Exotic fish and activate Deep Dive altars to start the mission. Successfully complete the Exotic mission within the time limit to finish this Triumph. A thorough breakdown of this quest can be found in our Wicked Implement quest guide.
