How to open the Unicorn door - Resident Evil Requiem

You'll happen across the Unicorn door early in Resident Evil Requiem. Fortunately, the key item you need to open it isn't far from the door itself.

There are many locked doors in Resident Evil Requiem. Some of them require keys to unlock, while others, such as the Unicorn door which leads into the Parlor, require special items. This guide will walk you through finding the item you need to unlock the Unicorn door.

How to open the Unicorn door

To open the Unicorn door, you’ll need the Red Jewel found in the Chairman’s Office on the second floor of the west wing. To get there, make your way through the Kitchen (beware the butcher) and hang a right into the adjoining hallway. Take the next left and creep through the Dining Room; move too fast, or fire your gun, and you could wake up the zombies enjoying their entrees.

In the next corridor, go past the Filing Room on your left and continue on until you come to a set of stairs on your right. Take them, but be careful: There could be a zombie wandering around on the second floor landing. Shoot him in the head or leg to stagger him, then run past him and head into the first corridor. Take the map on the wall to fill in the west wing.

Head to the left and pass through the door to enter the Bar & Lounge. Several zombies mill about. Wait until the singing lady has moved to the left, then ease your way to the right and through the doorway. Follow the bends in the hallway until you find a doorway on your left. This leads into the Chairman’s Office. Go inside and immediately turn left. You’ll find a white box, the Unicorn Trinket Box, on your left. Take it, then open your inventory and Examine it. Rotate until you’re prompted to open it. The Red Jewel is inside. 

Retrace your steps downstairs, but be warned: The butcher now roams the corridor where the Unicorn door is found. Avoid him, or shoot him with the Requiem to stagger him, then make your way to the Unicorn door and insert the Red Jewel to open it.

Now that you’ve opened the Unicorn door, enter the Parlor and take a look at all the goodies along the lefthand wall.
