The Mermaid Mask is a murder mystery game from the makers of Crow Country
A sequel in SFB Games' Detective Grimoire series, The Mermaid Mask launches on PC and consoles in summer 2026.
If players are looking for an exciting murder mystery from some folks who have a proven record of knowing how to make them, then SFB Games is set to oblige this year with The Mermaid Mask. It’s a mystery about an old man who gets murdered in a sealed room with a mysterious cauldron, and it’s coming in summer 2026 from the developers who brought us Crow Country.
SFB Games announced the latest details for The Mermaid Mask in a press release this week. The game’s development was delayed, but is now on track to finish this year and will be released on consoles and PC in the summer months if all goes as planned.
Detective Grimoire and Sally will return in 'The Mermaid Mask' in 2026. Thanks for your patience! I can't wait to share it with everyone. (The first delay was largely due to Crow Country, and this second delay is a normal 'every project takes longer than you think' situation) pic.twitter.com/SKYCLzWqZH

The Mermaid Mask is the latest in a series of mystery games from SFB centered on Detective Grimoire, the previous one being the much-applauded Tangle Tower. The Mermaid Mask will be another quirky adventure for Grimoire as this time he tries to solve the murder of the captain of the world’s strangest submarine. The game has been in development for some time, but SFB had runaway success with its previous title, Crow Country, which saw the studio focus on porting the game to further platforms. The Mermaid Mask was further delayed by typical development speedbumps, according to the devs, and should make its debut in 2026.
With Crow Country having been a hit and the Detective Grimoire games having impressed players even before, it will be interesting to see how The Mermaid Mask turns out. Stay tuned to the SFB Games topic for further updates.
