Alex's Street Fighter 6 gameplay locks in nods to wrestling legend Kenny Omega
We were already thrilled to see his chops and powerbombs intact alongside a plethora of vicious heel moves. Then, he hit the One-Winged Angel.
Street Fighter 6 fans and players are over the moon today looking at the latest character to join the Year 3 DLC, Alex. The Street Fighter 3 protagonist and former hero wrestler has been through the ringer and it has soured his mood, so he’s coming back with a vengeance. Thankfully, for fans, that comes to Street Fighter 6 in a couple months with all of the great things Alex did before, as well as some nasty twists and new tricks added in.
Alex’s gameplay trailer dropped today on Street Fighter 6 social channels and we got a much closer look at what that means as we prep for his launch on March 17, 2026. He’s looking like an absolute bruiser. As far as familiarity goes, his forearm chops are intact, and his aerial stomp is back and looks meaner than ever. He also has his signature powerbomb, and his huge ranged big boot kick.
Alex also seems to have a ton of special moves and grapples. Among them, we saw Kenny Omega’s Snapdragon Suplex and the trailer even ended on one variation of his Level 3 Super being none other than the One-Winged Angel finisher. Other fans also pointed out that Alex seems to also pay homage to other popular wrestling imagery, such as Kinnikuman and Kinniku Ataru’s signature Napalm Stretch. All in all, Alex looks amazing, and like he’ll have a lot of options to offer avid grappling fans.
With Alex set to launch in just a couple months, stay tuned to the Street Fighter 6 topic for more updates and coverage.
