What are weapon packages in BF6?
Weapon packages are just one more way to speed up progression in Battlefield 6. Here's how they work.
Unlocking weapons in Battlefield 6 isn’t the simplest process, and weapon packages add an additional wrinkle to the unlock mechanics. Thankfully, they’re pretty easy to understand once you know what they are and how to earn them. Here’s what you need to know.

A weapon package is essentially a pre-built version of one of the available weapons in Battlefield 6 with a unique skin. The “package” part delineates it as a separate kind of unlock.
Weapon packages also act as an additional customization slot for any weapon that has one. In other words, you can have the base M4A1 that starts with a specific set of attachments and a weapon package version that looks a bit different and comes differently equipped by default.

You can customize weapons from these packages the same way you would normal weapons, but only if you own the base version of the weapon. Weapon packages also override the standard unlock conditions for weapons.
Consider if you’re playing on a lower-level account or haven’t completed the challenges required to unlock a weapon. Unlocking a package for that gun immediately and permanently unlocks it for you.
You’d still need to reach the right level or complete the challenges to unlock the base, unskinned version of the weapon if you prefer that look, of course.

You unlock weapon packages in two main ways: via the battle pass or by advancing Mastery levels. The battle pass is the simpler of the two processes, as you get more packages for more weapons for the same time you’d spend reaching Mastery Level 50 for the Unstoppable Force skin.

The third and final way to unlock a weapon package is by purchasing it from the in-game store using Battlefield Coins. Spending the real-world money you’re likely to need to buy the skins does not confer any additional bonuses to the guns beyond the different attachments.
The “upgrades” so purchased are essentially cosmetic, barring what little help some attachments can give weapons early on in their progression.
