(The original NES one that never existed)
Still working through this, even though I've been in the same dungeon for a couple of weeks.
My main problem right now is that the magic system requires a TON of grinding. I'm running into one particular monster type with very high defense and very high attack and they tend to wipe my party every time I run into them. I think the solution is to use magic to either immobilize him or buff my party's defense. But since I haven't used either spell yet, none of my guys have any skill using it. So the first thing I need to do is grind that spell like crazy--literally like a hundred battles--and then hope it works.
Many Final Fantasy games have bosses or enemies that can be neutralized pretty quickly with a particular spell. But in a game where your ability to cast that spell is based on having cast it many, many times before, that becomes a real hassle.
Anyway, my party of monk warrior mages is growing, but we're against a wall right now until we knock it down.
