Call of Duty as a brand owes a lot to cheesy action movies, and Black Ops 6 pays tribute to one of the genre's best eras in the newest event, '90s Action Heroes. It offers a smattering of rewards, all inspired by the aesthetics of late twentieth-century cinema.

While Black Ops 6 has dived headfirst into franchise-specific crossovers before, '90s Action Heroes is more general, casting series operators as the inspiration for the cosmetics. Here's everything you'll need to know when you jump into this event.

How Does The '90s Action Heroes Event Work?

The '90s Action Heroes event runs from August 21 to September 4, 2025. In line with Black Ops 6's most simple events, you'll only need to worry about grabbing experience points.

Reaching certain XP thresholds will grant you various prizes, including profile cosmetics, but the stars of the show are a new Zombies field upgrade and melee weapon, boxing gloves.

The best way to accrue experience is, of course, to play well. Completing and winning matches offers you additional XP sums, while feats like double kills or capturing points also help. Sticking to game modes where you can easily play the objective (TDM, Domination, Hardpoint, etc.) will help you farm the required XP at a more efficient rate.

You can greatly expedite your event progress by equipping profile experience point boosters via the multiplayer lobbies. These boosters are often available for free in the in-game storefront, and you may have collected more from within battle passes or during other challenges.
